Journey to the Tower Part 2 - Level 2

This merry band of fortune seekers sets off to the tower to go to the next available level in the tower - On-wards and upwards they say.
Bro Gio gave us the quick notes on the 1st level and we pushed our way upwards with little to no issues.

The second level we come to a door and it opens to a hallway, and Alvay borrows the 10' Pole from Brother Gio and starts his pole tap dancing checking up/down/left and right.
Seems all is ok, so off we start to trek.

It seems pole dancing and clubbing was on the agenda today, good thing Alvay wore his brown pants this day.
We went slow and cautious and Alvay used Gio's pole to poke and prod the floor every chance he could, until he couldn't then Thailon took over the pole dance.

We turn right from the doors to see on our left a Bronze Door and just up to our right a Wooden door. Valen advises the voices in his head says the left door may be bad.
But as a group we ignore his voices (though he may have been correct/we wont admit it)
Thailon listens at the door and checks for traps (common thing for all doors, this is his role) Nothing happen he steps back and Alvay opens the door.
We walk into a fairly large room with a desk in a corner and 3 Skeleton targets at the end of the room.
Brother Gio, walks into the room and gets close to the desk and then it happens, he sets off a Teleportation trap, as he falls at increasingly quick rate, we rack our brains on how to save him from this problem. We try to tackle him, we try to rope him and fail miserably, he gets bashed in the head by the desk that is also stuck in the trap with him, but its just a flesh wound and he will survive. It is the quick wits of Thanduil, and he casts feather fall on Bro Gio and we are able to rescue him from his demise.
Also we notice in the trap 3 wands flying up and down, we rig up a net and fish them out of the teleportation trap.

After a quick breather and letting Bro Gio get his bearings we cross the hall to the wooden door. Door seems okso it is opened again by Alvay, Bro Gio and Wollo the torch bearer enter the room to see a bookshelf and cobwebs, needless to say, a small spider appears and before it can do anything Bohemund dispatches the little critter.
We find a Key made of Bone, this key is held by Valen, in the last group a Steel Blue Key was also found and this being held by Brother Gio.
Also in here was a clay pot with some treasure.

We decide its time to rest, but low and behold we get interrupted by 2 Zombies, in quick thinking Brother Gio stands up and tells the Zombies to run from the light of Fortuna. (MMMM love tuna) The zombies run away, one runs into a corner and with quick wits again, a oil flask and some missile weapons we take the one zombie out and the other runs downstairs and is gone.

We continue our search of the 2nd level heading forward to yet another door off a long room, this long room has many holes in the ground (traps???)
We search the door, and Bro Gio advises this room is above a collapsed room below, we should proceed with caution.
In goes Bro Gio, Alvay and Wollo. They poke around with the 10' Pole only to disturb some dust and get poisoned. Bro Gio is not looking well but will survive, Alvay a little worse for wear and pale and Wollo is unharmed for the most part.

We leave that room to now look at these holes in the ground. What could these be used for. Thailon takes the 10' Pole and starts poking all the holes, some have loot and others have bad juju, one hole had a rat which was quickly dispatched yet again by Bohemund, and then another hole had a Cobra lucky no one got that in eye, and it is dispatched by I believe Bohemund again, with some help by others, and yet another hole produces two worm like creatures (we believe Rot Grubs) and they are quickly clubbed. not going to lie half the holes had some pretty good loot, but no one was willing to put their arm into a hole to check things out, so Valen offers anyone 3 GP too reach in and pull out the loot, so Thailon does so, and seeming emboldened by the good fortune, he does so not once, twice or thrice but four times. The luck of Fortuna definitely shone down on us.

So with the holes all examined and a set of stairs going up, we notice there is a recess behind the stairs so throwing caution to the wind Alvay decides to take a peek around the corner with Wollo and well that's when it happens. A pretty big spider launches out and hits Alvay hard, injects him with poison and its not looking great. The round goes pretty fast with Bohemund and Thanduil laying two big hits on this spider and kill it. The problem is Alvay is in a bad way, we do not have the tools/spells/magic items to save him. So we beat a hasty retreat back to town, trying to save him, but its too little too late. Alvay succumbs to the poison, we burn his body in a pyre and most of the adventuring party prays and give up offerings for him.

With that the party returns to the tavern to have a drink and remember Alvay, what is next in store for this group of adventurers??
